We are thrilled to announce this brand new feature: AI for SEOPress!
For those who are not aware, artificial intelligence has made real progress recently. Chat-GPT in particular made the buzz in the media. It is a product created by OpenAI to promote and demonstrate the capabilities and power of their AI.
And to be honest we were blown away!
Generate meta title / description automatically with AI for your WordPress site
This first iteration will allow you to, in seconds right from the SEO metabox, automagically generate meta title and meta description based on your content: post, page or custom post type.
You can even use the bulk action “Generate meta title with AI” and “Generate meta description with AI“.
How does this work?
We use OpenAI API to generate your SEO metadata based on your post content. We use the Davinci model by default which is currently the most efficient but you can switch to other ones like Curie, Babbage or Ada from the settings.
Many languages are supported but the most trained for model are currently: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
How does it cost?
SEOPress PRO is required, plus you will need an OpenAI API key that you can generate from your OpenAI account.
Every new user gets $18 $5 of free credits from OpenAI, which means you can generate hundreds (thousands?) of meta titles and descriptions without any hassle.
We charge absolutely no extra for using this OpenAI API. We try to minimize the use of tokens (ie, credits) as much as possible while obtaining efficient responses from OpenAI.
Why and how should I use it?
See it as a super assistant: ask him to chew on your work and then correct him if necessary. On a site with hundreds of pages, the saving in time and productivity, and therefore in money, is just considerable!
In fact, this is just a no-brainer.
And this is just the beginning! We have great plans to improve this new AI feature in SEOPress.

This new version of SEOPress also brings its share of improvements and fixes including:
- an alert for the webmaster if his OG image is over 300kb for WhatsApp
- Google Search Console metrics including clics, positions, CTR et impressions are now automatically retrieved daily
- redesign of 404 error alert emails: now receive 1 report by email per week with the top 10 404 errors and the last 10 listed. This replaces the functionality of sending 404 alert emails for each detected error.
